Comics are a visual medium, and I’ve definitely been accused of being too wordy from time to time in my comics. So when an idea comes along like this one where I can draw a whole comic and tell a story without a single word, it’s really a joy to draw. There was a famous issue of the GI Joe comic book back in the 1980s that didn’t have a single word of dialogue (it did have some sound effects), and so my comic here reminds me of the joy I had when reading that for the first time. I also ended up making a color version of this comic for a playmat, which has been one of my more popular playmat designs.
