This comic was originally drawn for Thanksgiving a few years ago. Did you guess that from the Jeweled Lotus reference? It’s always tricky making specific references to cards because it can date the comic if the card is later banned (just look at some of my old comics on the Modern format for examples of comics that have become completely outdated now). But surely Jeweled Lotus would never be banned in the only format it was printed for, right? Right?!
